Our History
Founded in 1876, Meharry Medical College is one of the nation’s oldest and largest historically black academic health science centers dedicated to educating physicians, dentists, researchers and health policy experts.
Meharry Medical Group was established in 1981 and acts as an extension of Meharry Medical College’s medical education program.
Board-certified physicians provide all medical services, but as a training facility, medical students rotate through our clinics as part of their medical school education, to observe and assist the clinical physicians and staff. We train the next generation of medical professionals in the latest techniques and methodologies to ensure they deliver the highest quality of healthcare.
